Brief Introduction

The High-Power Target Group is dedicated to the study of scientific and technical issues related to high-power spallation targets in advanced nuclear energy systems. The group primarily focuses on the design, experimental validation, and engineering integration of high-power spallation targets.

The group currently consists of 21 staff members. The team has a well-structured composition, including 3 research professors and doctoral supervisors, and 11 associate professors/senior engineers.

In terms of research, the group focuses on the following key directions:

1. Neutronics: High-flux fast neutron monitoring technology, vehicle-mounted material non-destructive testing technology based on neutron resonance transmission, etc.

2. Thermal Hydraulics: Online monitoring and analysis technology for structural integrity, investigation of thermal-hydraulic characteristics of liquid metals, evaluation technology for spallation target structural materials, etc.

3. Novel Spallation Targets: High-power windowless target technology, etc.

In the past five years, the group has published a total of 20 patents and publications.

In terms of international collaboration and talent introduction, the group has signed cooperation agreements with Kyoto University, Niigata Institute of Technology, and Institute of Science Tokyo, focusing on spallation target design and structural integrity monitoring. The group actively promotes the international training of young researchers.
