Symposium on Cooperation between IMP and School of Science & RCNP of Osaka University Held
On December 17th and 18th, a symposium was jointly held by the Institute of Modern Physics (IMP), Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the School of Science and the Research Center for Nuclear Physics (RCNP) of Osaka University at the Huizhou campus of IMP.
The symposium was themed on the cooperation between the two institutes in such fields as scientific research, talent cultivation, education for foreign students and cultural exchanges.
Prof. ZHOU Xiaohong, the director of the Nuclear Physics Research Center of IMP, introduced the research work on nuclear physics at IMP. Then, experts from Osaka University made an introduction to the university and of the School of Science and RCNP. After that, they put forward suggestions on the scientific research cooperation and joint postgraduate training with IMP. The two sides agreed to conduct more exchanges in mutual visits among postgraduates and cultivation of foreign students while pursuing further cooperation on scientific research.
After the symposium, the experts visited the construction site of High Intensity Heavy-ion Accelerator Facility (HIAF) and China initiative Accelerator Driven System (CiADS). Experts of both sides hold positive attitudes towards the cooperation based on those large-scale scientific facilities.
