Equipment Installation of High Intensity Heavy-ion Accelerator Facility Almost Complete
The High Intensity heavy-ion Accelerator Facility (HIAF), being constructed by the Institute of Modern Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, is a multi-purpose accelerator complex with leading beam parameters for heavy-ion scientific research. Its construction began in December of 2018 and is expected to last 7 years.
Currently, the equipment installation of HIAF is almost finished, and all ancillary systems are operational.
The facility's commissioning is scheduled in 2025. Upon completion, HIAF will provide the world's highest pulsed beam intensity of heavy ions, creating internationally leading experimental conditions in the field of heavy-ion scientific research.
