Public Science Day

The Institute of Modern Physics (IMP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is open to the general public on Public Science Days twice a year, usually on a weekend in late May and a weekend in early November. Every year, thousands of visitors come to IMP to engage in a pleasant science tour and get a closer insight into the impressive facilities, laboratories and experiments.

On Public Science Days, a series of events are held that relate to the research being carried out at IMP, including lectures, demonstrations of experiments, and interactive scientific games. Some of our laboratories and advanced facilities will also be accessible to visitors, such as the Heavy Ion Research Facility at Lanzhou (HIRFL).

All of the events are free of charge. The visitors can obtain the best opportunities to know about the scientific work of IMP and enjoy the pleasure of getting involved in hands-on activities.

If you would like to visit, please email us at gaojingyi@impcas.ac.cn or call 86-931-4969203 to make an appointment in advance.
