From Zhongchuan International Airport to IMP

IMP Address: Institute of Modern Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, No.509 Nanchang Rd., Chengguan District, Lanzhou, China

Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport is located about 70 km (43.5 miles) away from IMP. It’s recommended to take a taxi or an airport shuttle bus from the airport to IMP.

1. By taxi:

Take a taxi at the official taxi stand. The fare should be around 200 RMB and the journey would take about an hour. Please ask for a receipt before you leave the taxi.

2. By airport shuttle bus:

You could find the ticket office following the signs in the arrivals hall. To get to IMP, take line 1 to the Oriental Hotel (东方大酒店, No. 523, Tianshuinan Rd., Chengguan District, Lanzhou), and then go north for about ten minutes along the Tianshui Road. It would take about 70 minutes for the airport bus (30 RMB per person) to arrive at the hotel.

Weather in Lanzhou

Lanzhou has a typical temperate, continental climate. It is dry with abundant sunshine. The annual precipitation is 328 millimeters (12.91 inches), which is concentrated from June to August, making summer here nice and cool. The winter in Lanzhou is long and chilly with temperatures often below 0°C (32°F). January may be the coldest month of the year. Compared with the winter, its spring and autumn are relatively warmer while the temperature differs sharply during day and night. The most comfortable months in Lanzhou are usually from May to October.
