Seminar: MPD Experiment at NICA and the Simulation of ECal

The main goal of NICA/MPD is to investigate the hot and dense baryonic matter in heavy-ion collisions over a wide range of atomic masses, from Au+Au collisions at a center-of-mass energy of= 11GeV(for Au79+) to proton-proton collisions with= 20GeV. Electromagnetic calorimeter (ECal) is an important detector of the MPD to identify electrons, photons and to measure their energy with high precision.  

In this talk, Dr. Huang will firstly introduce the MPD experiment and the simulation tool MpdRoot. Then she will talk about the shashlyk ECal and its reconstruction. Finally, the simulation of the performance of ECal and reconstruction of pion0 will be shown.
