IMP Signed MoU with ENEA and Universita' di Firenze
On September 5, Institute of Modern Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMP) and the Italian national new technologies, energy and sustainable economic development Agency (ENEA) and the University of Florence (Italy) signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Lanzhou.
With the framework of MoU, the IMP will work together with ENEA and University of Florence to enhance the cooperation in exploring space radiation biological effects by developing detection device of micro radiation.
The ENEA is the second-largest fundamental and applied technology research institution in Italy, focusing on the fields of nuclear energy, renewable energy and environmental protection. The University of Florence has strong capabilities of development of radiation monitoring device and research on radiation protection measures.
IMP is the only research institution with a high-energy heavy ion accelerator in China, which could be used to simulate space conditions.
