IMP and DLR to Strengthen Co-op in Space Radiation Biological Effects
On February 26, Institute of Modern Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMP) and the German Aerospace Center (DLR) signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Lanzhou.
With the framework of MoU, the two sides will work together to enhance the cooperation in exploring space radiation dose, radiation protection and space radiation biological effects by developing detection device of micro radiation.
DLR is the national center for aerospace, energy and transportation research of the Federal Republic of Germany. IMP is the only research institution with a high-energy heavy ion accelerator in China, which could be used to simulate space conditions.
The director of IMP, Dr. Guoqing Xiao (the third from the left )signed the MoU with Dr. Guenther Reitz (the fourth from the left ) from the DLR.
